Robocop remake started in Toronto with new suit like Batman

The shooting of Robocop remake in Toronto that started last week
New Robocop with new suit has emerged keeping the fans in speculation. The new robocop suit is a little bit like that of Batman. Joel Kinnaman is doing the role of Alex Murphy in the  Robocop remake. In the movie actress Aimee Garcia, who is probably best known for her roles in both Trauma and Dexter, has reportedly signed on for a role in director Jose Padilha. According to Cinema Blend, Garcia will portray one of the scientists who helps bring fallen police officer Alex Murphy back to life. The film began production in Toronto last week.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Garcia is currently filming her second season of Dexter, Showtime’s hit show about a forensic expert who moonlights as a serial killer. Given that production on the aforementioned reboot is currently underway, Garcia may be forced to pull double duty in order to fulfill her obligations to both projects. The seventh season of Dexter is currently scheduled to air on September 30.

Jose Padilha’s RoboCop remake has generated a fair amount of controversy as of late. Fans of Paul Verhoeven’s 80s action classic were more than a little irritated over leaked images of their hero’s brand new design. Since the newest version of RoboCop is a lot sleeker and less robotic that its predecessor, those who consider the original film to be one of the greatest motion pictures in history have been extremely vocal about the alterations.

“The original Robocop looked like a robot, this one looks like a guy in a suit,” one Reddit user bemoaned. “I had no doubt that the original Robocop was just a dude’s face and torso stuck inside a machine. This one just looks like he’s wearing armor.”

Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be in director Jose Padilha’s shoes at the moment. Although he’s proven his worth with several incredible motion pictures — if you haven’t seen his award-winning documentary Bus 174, you probably should — outrage over the very idea of a RoboCop remake has completely overshadowed the guy’s skills as a filmmaker.
